Default More regarding being confused....

Okay, since I need to buy an aftermarket phone for my daughter, I need a
tech question answered.

And thanks for all the help so far.

Her current phone is a Nokia 3595. The best I can see it is a GSM phone. So
if I come across any AT&T approved GSM phone, I can just swap the SIM card,
and she'll be happy? Is that how it works? I'm on ebay looking around, but
don't want to get something that won't work.

Thanks again....

If your daughters' current phone has a small little plastic card behind
the battery then yes, it is GSM. If you go on ebay and get another
phone which is proclaimed as GSM, AND is unlocked or is just for ATT
Wireless - then yes, the one you purchase will work fine on ATT
Wireless.

Just make sure your current phone has a small blue plastic chip behind
the battery which says "ATT" on it - it may also be white.

Make sure the ebay phone you purchase is then also GSM and make sure
the ebay phone is UNLOCKED or specifically for ATT wireless, if you're
unsure of the phone - "Ask the seller" prior to any purchase.

Thank you Marius for all of the pertinent info. I think I'm getting a slight
clue. I'll look for an unlocked, or AT&T-only phone.
