Default Using cingular phone on T-Mobile plan?

I had a couple of question regarding unlocking a Samsung phone that I'd like
to buy through Cingular for use with my T-Mobile plan.

1) How would I go about doing it? Is it as simple as entering a code into my
phone for it or do I actually have to go into the phone and do something?

2) Is it a situation where Cingular or T-Mobile can find out and send a code
that will lock it on me again even after I unlock it?

The reason I would like to do this is because T-Mobile's phone selection
flat-out sucks. There is very little selection compared to most of the other
cell-plan providers. I've waited several months to see if it would change
but believe it or not, T-Mobile's phone selection is smaller than ever now.

Thank you for any help.

I've had good luck with phones I've purchased on eBay.

You might buy an unlocked Samsung 426 or 427 on eBay. I like the 426's
display a little better.

I don't know the procedure for unlocking your phone but some can be
unlocked with a code while others require attachment to special
equipment. Google will help you find the details. Once unlocked it
cannot be locked over the air by any carrier.

T-Mobile won't; they have no contract with you which allows them to do so. The
contractual right comes only if you buy the mobile from them.
Cingular can't; they won't be talking to your phone once you put a T-Mobile SIM
in it.

Did it myself; use a phone originally from Rogers on T-Mobile.

1) You no need to go into to the samsung Phone to unlock it ...You can just enter the Unlock code in the phone screen by keypad and unlock it...What is mobile model? It's old samsung phone means get the free unlock code from www.unlock-free.com and unlock it easily.

2)Don't worry once you get the phone unlocked from network lock..Your network provider will not send the code again and make it lock again with them..Unlocking from network is permanent will not unlock again.
