Default Butt-dialing help?

Any ideas to stop butt-dialing? Besides trading it in on a clam-shell? A
hard case of some sort perhaps? I know about the keyboard lock setting but
I too often forget it. My phone called the police department 3 X yesteday.
sigh

TIA

Without knowing what phone you have...

With an Android phone, there's alternate lock screens that can auto
lock after x seconds, which can't dial.

Sorry - LG 500GHL.

I was thinking of a possible case to cover the front like a clamshell?

Or an automatic dial-out disable of some sort - that can be overriden for
a call if necessary. If you ubderstand what I'm trying, without the
proper vocabulary, to say.

Use the AutoLock in Settings / Phone Settings.

I tried it. Shut off and turned cell back on and got no service so
couldn't call out. Is that what it's supposed to do? If so, not what I
had in mind. I wanted something I could easily override, perhaps set
keyboard lock which is easy to override.

Maybe I could somehow create a message that appears whenever I turn on
the cell to remind me to lock keyboard?

TIA
