or can you tell me some url's for this info
Download the "AT Command Set" PDF manual for your particular
phone from the Siemens web site for that phone (address in your
manual) and/or download GSM 07.05 from www.etsi.org. Both are
free, but the ETSI site requires you to register.
For direct (unsolicited) dumping of SMSs to the serial port as
they arrive, the commands to look closely at include AT+CNMI,
AT+CNMA, AT+CPMS and AT+CSMS.
Alternatively, you can regularly poll the phone for unread
messages with AT+CMGR, using AT+CMGD for housekeeping to delete
Most Siemens phones support PDU-mode (AT+CMGF=0) without the
option of running text-mode (AT+CMGF=1). So you may need to
include PDU decoding algorithms in software, requiring
familiarity with GSM 03.38 and 03.40. The Siemens PDF
"Developer's Guide: SMS with the SMS PDU-mode" has an excellent
summary of what you need to know from GSM 03.40.
