Subject pretty much summarizes my problem... when I plug my phone into
PC through USB connection, I have no "Mass Storage" option and consequently I can't transfer any files. I can remove the SD card and read contents that way, but that is much less convenient. Does anyone know what might have gotten messed up? thanks! -- replace "roosters" with "cox" to reply. http://members.cox.net/njnagel |

That's my suspicion, when I first got the phone it had ICS on it and it has updated to JB, maybe that is when this happened? But I guess the real question is, am I correct in my assumption, and to whom do I complain to make sure that this is fixed next time an update is piped down? This is a colossal pain in the keister and the only saving grace is that unlike my last phone (original Photon) I don't have to pry the back off to get at the SD card to remove it, although if I'm stuck with a PC that doesn't have a card reader, or I'm without a Micro SD to SD adapter, I'm dead in the water. nate -- replace "roosters" with "cox" to reply. http://members.cox.net/njnagel |

But they're not going to bring back the mass storage option. Some Android phones have PTP mode (Picture Transfer Protocol) for pictures. If you can switch to this mode, you'll get back some of the functionality lost in mass storage mode. You could also try to find an older release of Android to install on the phone. |
