Default Q.: Hotspot service blocked if using Page Plus?

I'm using a VZW-branded Moto Droid X2 on Page Plus Cellular's lightest
offering, the $10 PIN once every 120 days. That handset can be set up to
operate as a hot spot and, out of curiosity recently, I set it up for that,
only to learn that, somehow, a vzw-named web-page comes in interstitially,
when a device tries to connect, and block the connection.

Is that normal with that Page Plus activation/service? Or have I missed
setting some parameter correctly?

Thanks. Cheers, -- tlvp

This is a pretty low activity, if not semi-dead, thread. You might want
to post over on the PagePlus forum on HoFo. You could even call/chat
with PP;-)

I have the same phone on the same plan. I've used the hotspot feature
successfully in the past few months, but not very recently. I can try
later to see if it still works for me and post back here to let you
know.

I'd be grateful for your report. BTW, is the rubbery dark brown plastic
coating on the battery compartment cover peeling off on yours, as it is on
mine? (Acts like my skin does after a sunburn :-) .) TIA. Cheers, -- tlvp

Just tried it in Virginia Beach and I get "Page not found" errors, so
something appears to have changed. And I got mine used at a local PP
dealer and it was (and still is) in pretty pristine condition. It
stays in my primary car for Bluetooth connectivity and is hardly ever
out of its cheap fabric case I bought for it.

Trying to connect to mine with 802.11b on a Windows computer, it simply
fails to connect once the passkey for its SSID is entered at the prompt.

Trying to get another Android device to connect to it, instead, the browser
that's up by default offers only a Page not Found for a vzw page I never
sought (that the Droid X2 may somehow think needs to be offered).

Page Plus claim that they've never heard of a Droid X2 on that $10 PIN
plan serving as wi-fi hotspot, and have no idea how to enable it doing so.

Thanks anyway for your follow-up. Cheers, -- tlvp

FYI, I just arrived back in Virginia and am trying an alternative
solution in an app called FoxFi. I got my real first chance to use it
yesterday and it worked great with my X2 and tablet.

Thanks for the constructive follow-up. 'Zat v. 2.19? or earlier? or newer?

Default Hotspot service blocked if using Page Plus?

Page Plus tells me that plan is NOT availble on my Verizon labled Moto
Droid. Require me to accept a $30+ per month 'deal'.

How did you get that one?

An aside is there no way to speak to a native English (USA) speaker at Page
Plus?

TIA

I simply changed handsets ... from a much older Samsung SCH-A930 flip-phone
that was on that PaYGo $10-every-120-days plan. No big deal -- they just
confirmed the Moto Droid X2's MEID wasn't black-listed and ported it in.

For the most part I've encountered *only* such native English (USA)
speakers there. Sorry, that's not much help to you. Cheers, -- tlvp
