Default IPhone: Voice memo app like a digital voice recorder?

(Crossposted, please feel free to trim groups)

I have been using digital voice recorders for many years. Voice
recorders are popular, they come from many different makers
(Olympus, Sony, RCA).

Similar/useful features I would like in an iPhone application...

.... start recording instantly (probably not possible due to the
iPhone electronics)

.... folders... my most common use for a voice recorder is a to-do
and a to-buy list, with other folders for other things... they are
very useful for a sequence of notes that can be individually easily
deleted

.... single tap playback, single tap record, and single tap stop
(move on to another recording)

Usually, there is no need for a voice memo title, the folder
determines the subject of the recordings. Typing a description
defeats the purpose of easily recording short notes.

Any candidates?
Thanks.

Taking a closer look at the default Voice Memos application, it is
close to a dedicated digital voice recorder, but...

Needs folders, maybe directly accessible from the home screen. Apple's
Voice Memos might work well enough to replace a digital voice recorder
if it could be duplicated... one for "to-do", another for "to-buy",
etc. By the way, having to choose a folder after every recording would
be less efficient than choosing the folder first.

Audio files should be playable with a single tap, especially
considering the fact that applications start from the home screen with
a single tap.

Apple's Voice Memos closed source? Or can it be modified?

At the moment, I am looking at iTalk. It cannot even delete recordings
from the same dialog they are played from. I wonder if any of the
developers have used a digital voice recorder.

Thanks, I am still looking. I use a voice recorder every day all day, I
shall find the equivalent application or hopefully at least very close.
It can probably be made even better than a voice recorder for a
shopping list. That includes the ability to quickly add/delete
recordings in a particular folder. The only possible drawback using the
iPhone is the response time between tapping "record" and when the
recording starts. Some are much faster than others, so apparently that
lag can be reduced via software.

SpeakEasy Voice Recorder is my first iPhone voice recorder application
purchase. I need a voice/sound recorder application that is folder
centric. Recording, playing, and deleting short notes should be easeir.

.... when SpeakEasy's Show Full Editor option is set, defaulting to the
same folder as the last time a file was saved would be much more
efficient instead of (for some strange reason) always changing back to
the General folder

.... after deleting a file in a list, SpeakEasy should not automatically
switch out of play mode, staying in play mode would help make reviewing
and removing folder items (like in a "to-do" or "to-buy" list) more
efficient

.... in play mode, pressing the next file button should play the next
file, reading or viewing stuff about the next voice recording is
unnecessary, just start playing the thing

.... since SpeakEasy includes a trash folder, being required to delete
every single file (in a folder) one at a time makes no sense, it should
allow deleting all files in a folder

.... there is too much time between touching the microphone and when the
recording actually starts, some iPhone voice recorders are much faster

I would very much appreciate help finding a more efficient folder
centric voice/note recorder application for my iPhone. Thanks.
