Default Fido Motorola V60 in Greece

My sister is going to Greece and wants to take her Motorola GSM flip
with her. SHe wants to buy a pre-paid sim in Greece because it will
be cheaper than having her Fido sim in her phone.... Does she have to
call Fido so they can make the phone work in Greece?

If she plans on using a Greek pre-paid SIM, then there's no reason to get
Fido involved. All she needs to do is get the phone unlocked so that it'll
accept a non-Fido SIM, and she's golden. Since it's a tri-band handset,
it'll pick up a signal in Greece with no problems.

Most dealers in greece do it for about 30-45 ?.
The best local company with prepaid would be Cosmote "What's Up" or Vodafone
"A la carte"

Best of luck.

Yes, most any privately-owned (i.e. NOT Rogers, Fido, etc.) cellphone
service/sales place will do it for around $20-30 or so. Alternatively
she could buy a new unlocked triband GSM phone from a cellphone shop
but that would certainly cost more.

I dont think ANY dealers in Greece charge to unlock your phone cuz they
don't do that. ALL the phones in Europe are already UNLOCKED. So,
there is NO market there. GEt your phone unlocked in Canada.

Then those countries are the exception rather than the norm in Europe.
