Many devices with Android versions after the v.2.3.5 this VZW Moto Droid X2
has take screen shots by pressing quasi-simultaneously Power and VolDown, or Power and Home, or Back and Home, or VolUp and VolDown, or similar. But for 2.3.5 there's no Google-consensus, and nothing I tried works, so: How *does* one take screen shots on this 2.3.5 version of the Motorola Droid X2? (Or doesn't one at all?) Thanks for your good advice! Cheers, -- tlvp -- Avant de repondre, jeter la poubelle, SVP. |

MORE than I want to try, but here's what I found.. http://www.thefullsignal.com/motorol...orola-droid-x2 Wow! That's a whole boatload of stuff to do before you -- and whenever you want to -- take a screenshot. And you must be USB-linked to a computer. Unpremeditated screenshot? -- forget it, can't be done. -- Not for me :-) . THEN there is this.. http://www.mobiles24.com/downloads/t...-droid-x2-apps A neat list of apps that either are paid, or require root, or are limited to under a half-dozen screenshots, or must be fired up before you can take any screenshots, again making it hard or next to impossible to capture a screen you hadn't expected to want to be saving. And lastly, there is a download .apk file in this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1187904 Ah, that one again require root, it would appear. Looks like, for my $23 outlay on this Droid X2, I'm going to have to forego screenshots :-) . Oh, well, could be worse ... at least back on 2.3.5 you could store your apps on the external slide-it-into-its-slot microSD card (or so I read -- alas, the microSD card I ordered turned out to be one of those ultra-cheap duds -- piece of plastic with some brass contacts, but doing nothing (being refunded as I write this ... I think). Cheers, and thanks anyway for the attempts at help, -- tlvp -- Avant de repondre, jeter la poubelle, SVP. |

Offers at least 2 ways to snag screen-scrapes: (1) physically shake or rattle your handset; (2) touch a sensitive "take screen-shot" strip that's revealed by pulling down on the notification area night-shade. Seems to work a treat :-) ! (Did need minor tweak to swap blue for green. And can capture only to "internal" sdcard directory, not to true SD card. But the File app lets you move scrapes to the external SD card after.) So: Thanks, Other Guy. Cheers, -- tlvp (much overjoyed) |
